Farm
The Farm Repečnik is one of the oldest farms in Gorje village. The written material found, indicates that the farm was already here in the beginning of the 18th century. From its very beginning, it was a farm with no feudal taxpaying obligation and was considered a free farm. Its first owners were supposedly of a nobel origin. A short folk story “Rpečnekova vučca” refers to the farm in the beginning of the 19th century. Throughout the history, the farm was known as the biggest one around, and after a short period of its decline, Mirko and Nataša Rimahazi have done everything to bring it back to life. Nowdays Repečnik Farm is one of the biggest modern farms in the area. The residental house was built in year 1894 and has some traditional features, such as the front gate stone, the main door made from larch wood and the green tuff window frames.
On this dairy farm one can get close to the farm life and all the animals, which live here: cows, a horse, hens, a dog and cats. The main activity on the farm is dairy production. The farm dedicates all its energy to produce the best quality milk. The new farm stable built in October 2010 has a new milking robot machine Lely Astronaut.
One side of the farm lays in the old village center, and the other one opens out to the fields and hills. The picturesque mountains, such as Mt Stol and Mt Triglav as well as the Bled castle are seen from the farm. There are several naturall and cultural sights in the walking distance from the farm.
There are 2 apartments (each per max. 5 persons) on the upper floor of the main house. The home-made breakfast is served upon request, whereas the fresh farm products, such as fresh milk and eggs can be bought daily.
The farm owners are familiar with Upper Carniola traditional customs and are happy to advise their guests how to spend their holidays in the area. There are lots of different attractions, as well as chances for recreation here. Everything from hiking, cycling, mountaineering, kayaking, skiing, rafting, canyoning, fishing, climbing, tennis, beach volley, swimming etc. The guests also love to relax in the nature and help at the farm work. If they are on the farm upon the calf birth, they also get a chance to name the newborn.
